How to use the LLM Cost Calculator
Before you ship a chatbot, summariser or AI agent, you need to know what it will cost at scale. This calculator multiplies the average input and output tokens per request by your expected request volume and each model’s price per million tokens, giving per-request, daily and monthly figures. Output tokens are priced separately because nearly every provider charges more for generated text than for prompt text.
Prices change often and vary by provider, region and discount tier, so the tool does not hard-code a price list that would quickly go out of date. Instead you enter the current input and output price for up to three models, taken from the provider’s pricing page, and see them compared side by side. You can also set a cache-hit percentage to approximate prompt caching discounts, which many providers now offer for repeated system prompts.
